Briarcrest at Macy Manor, Ossining, New York

A Beautiful Site In A Grand Neighborhood

When driving through the Chilmark neighborhood, through Overton Road, Browning Drive, Oak Hill Terrace, Underhill Road, and others, you can't help but be impressed with the quality of the homes and the obvious care the residents have for their yards and gardens. Although set on a gentle slope, the home sites are fairly flat offering maximum use of front and rear yards. 16 of the 17 home sites wrap around a cul-de-sac offering maximum privacy and safety. The 17th site is reached via Eastern Avenue, a quiet residential street.

The original property consisted of 35 acres and was home to a number of Ossining’s prominent families. For many years the estate was the residence of V. Everitt Macy, The President of the Westchester County Parks Commission in the early part of the twentieth century as well as former president of the Westchester Rockland Newspapers. The mansion was later converted into a nursing home.

Briarcrest is a short ride to the Ossining or Scarborough Metro North train stations (42 minute express train to Manhattan). Shopping of all kinds is close by. White Plains, with all its major department stores plus The Westchester Mall, is a 15 minute ride away.

In addition to Ossining’s outstanding parks and recreation system with pool, tennis courts and many other facilities, a short drive will bring you to the region’s many health clubs, nature preserves, county parks and boating.
